Rosa, Rosa, Rosa, Rosa!

הפעם אנחנו כותבים באנגלית, בשביל שתוכל לקרוא את זה המארחת שלנו בקמפו גרנג'י - רוזה

This time we write in english in order that our lovely host - Rosa can read the post as well.

Our landing in Campo Grande couldn't be better - Rosa picked us up from the airport.. straight to a very nice bar with a nice capiriniha, where we met some of her friends.

It felt a bit weird being treated so nicely by someone, even with hospitalityclub - people never have been SO nice to us, and without adjusting time.. but we decided to stop feeling embarrassed and just accept the kindness from now on, but we still didn't have any idea what is going to come next...

We came to rosa's wonderful house (designed by herself) - with a nice yard, pool and an outdoor kitchen with a big hammock and two big palm trees... We were led to our ready made bed in our nice room, and really felt like we are accepted like family.

In the house we met pipoca (Portuguese for popcorn)

After a short sleep to wash down the flight-tiredness we woke up to a great breakfast, and then - a trip to the farm of Rosa's friends - a house she herslef designed, and there we met her daughter - steff.. there we went to see "the waterfall" near the house... we expected some kind of a small stream waterfall to wash our hands... but what was actually there was this:

A small Iguazu in the back yard!

we went for a swim, and went into the strong stream... it was great!

After that we had a wonderful dinner with the family (great home made cheese for a desert!), and had some nice conversation with Joao about religion, israel and other stuff...

Back at campo grande we got some sleep before going to the local Carnaval party (who said carnaval in Brazil is only in Rio and Salvador??).. the party was held in a large hall with a great atmosphere... only live music, when everybody dancing and enjoying - without any age limit... we drank beer and danced constantly (even though we didn't recognize any of the songs in pourtugease) - we got back home very sweaty and tired, but extremely satisfied... and then we drank some juice from coconuts Rosa picked from the palm trees (she says it prevents hang-over..)

Waking up at noon, and Rosa is again in the kitchen.. making us great brazilian barbecue.. after eating the only thing that was on our mind is how to get Rosa in our backpack and back to Israel... :)

After that we went to the city center (of course Rosa drove us there..) and tried to book a trip to the Pantanal but we had come across a man that really hates Israelis (ironically his name was ISRAEL!), so we just decided to move on to Corumba, on the border with bolivia (5 hours bus from Campo Grande) and to book a trip from there (which turned out to be a great decision..).

Rosa took us to meet some other friends of her that were really nice, and then we went shopping and made an Israeli salad for dinner, or as Rosa likes to call it - Ortal-Salad.. It really was one of the best salads we made in this trip... and we were delighted to give something, as tiny as it is, back....

Just when we headed to sleep, knowing tomorrow there is a bus, and we need to say goodbye, Rosa gave Itay a bossa-nova disc that we heard in the car and he liked... we really were speechless...

Next morning Rosa takes us to the bus station and we really held the tears saying goodbye...

But we knew that this is not actually goodbye... either we will come back and visit Bonito, that we skipped, or Rosa will come and be OUR guest in Israel... (or Both!).

To sum it all - Campo Grande was one of our favorite places in the trip, and not thanks to Campo Grande, but thanks to a lovely person named Rosa!
